HISTORY OF SHIH TZU PUPPY
This breed originated in China. It was a breed for the royal Chinese and was considered sacred during the reign of Dowager Empress Tzu His. It was offered as a gift to the emperors. The breed was used to warm beds and generate heat to the legs of the emperors and empresses. In the early 1900s, the Shih Tzu breed spread to Europe and eventually to the rest of the world. They gained popularity in America in the 1960s. It was in the year 1938 when a standard breed was established. The Shih Tzu breed is still attached to the royal bloodline.
Shih Tzu breeds also known as Chinese Lion Dog and Chrysanthemum Dogs have a lifespan of 10 to 15 years. They generally weigh 9 to 16 pounds and are of about 8 to 11 inches both the male and the female. They have long drooping ears with a lot of long fur around them. They have a long coat which sometimes may need attention to be trimmed. They are commonly referred to as toys with large dark shiny eyes.
CARING FOR YOUR CUTE SHIH TZU
The Shih Tzu breed should be taken care of just as the ordinary pets we keep at our homes. Frequent visits to vet doctors should be a routine well observed to avoid complications whether minor or major. This breed does not really mind the kind of environment it is in, your companionship is all it wants and needs. Even though it is not that active, create time for small walks, play time and a training time. By doing this your Shih Tzu breed will maintain its status, relax and make it physically fit. Always supervise what your puppy is doing in your apartment (indoor) and also outside your home.
SHIH TZU COLOR SHADES AND GROOMING
Shih Tzu breed comes in different colors. These are total black, Brown, black and white, Brown and white, red and white, white and gray. But did you know that the expensive or highly prized Shih Tzu are those that have a white-blazed forehead and a white tip? They always stand-out.
GROOMING
As for grooming, this kind of a breed will make you tired but it is always worth the effort. Shih Tzu requires frequent brushing and combing on their long fur in order to avoid the formation of tangles. Other times Shih Tzu breed long fur coat needs to be shaved to maintain cleanliness, smooth and beautiful coat. One should always look for or hire a professional groomer to maintain the coat of their puppy. Another thing to remember is to wash your puppy. This should be done at least once a week.
